The PC (Capture/Edit) Mode
You’ll want to use the PC Mode to directly capture, preview, edit and save your game-play as final files to keep on your PC or laptop. Add real Voice Commentary to every scene. Once it’s captured, you can burn a file to DVD format, stream it to Twitch or Ustream or upload to YouTube.
The Standalone Mode
If you want to directly capture and store your game-play on an external SD card, you can use the Standalone Mode on the GC2000. This mode does not require you to be hooked up to a PC at all and gives you the flexibility to edit your files later. Again, connect your game console and TV to the GC2000 and push the Record button to start your capturing. Then take your SD card and transfer the files onto your computer for editing.
The Streaming Mode
If you want to directly capture your game-play and stream it to websites such as Ustream or Twitch, you’ll want to use the Streaming mode. By connecting your router to the GC2000 via the Ethernet port, and using the Shareview software, you can also stream your favorite captured game-play scenes to your tablet or smartphone.
Any one of the Triple Play modes of the GC2000 can be selected by the Mode switch so you can seamlessly go back and forth each mode.

Paste Magazine – There’s one major reason the Game Caster works for me: I can save footage directly to an SD card. That eliminates the problems I had with footage looking choppy, and also makes it easier to transfer data to my computer for editing. BioGamer Girl– A major feature for the GameCaster GC2000 is definitely the Loop-Through that allows you to play, record and stream at the same time with no performance issues to be encountered as you do so. This feature works amazingly well in real life and it does allow you to further improve the way you stream. More Info
Gaming Nexus – The biggest benefit that the GC2000 has is the ability to operate it without the use of a PC. Once you have made the initial setup with your PC, you can then record and stream using just the unit and your console. You do need to do an initial setup, which has you configuring things such as your resolution, bitrate, and your streaming-website credentials, but once this is done you can ditch the PC. The only change in your connection is that you will need to attach a USB power brick to the USB cord from the hardware since it won’t be able to pull power from a connected PC. More Info
Dragon Blogger – Stand alone mode on the GC2000 is just like it says. You can connect it to your computer or console device. Connecting is very easy you as you just plug your HDMI in and out. Then you connect your USB to power the HD GC2000 Game Caster. Once that is done you install your SD card into the device. After the SD card is installed then make sure you switch the device button to SD card mode or Stand Alone mode. Then power on your computer or console and load the game. More info
Funny Kit – The GC2000 surpassed all my expectations! I really Enjoyed testing this device out. As Stated earlier, I haven’t had much of an interest with game captures before Diamond Multimedia sent the GC2000 to me. Before, I had only done short videos and snap shots using my video card. With testing out the GC2000, I can now see why there is such a huge market for sites like Twitch. More Info
