HDMI provides an interface between an audio/visual (AV) source and an AV monitor (TV). Traditionally, an HDMI cable connects the source to the monitor, with the length of the cable ranging from six feet to 50. In homes, offices and conference rooms, this creates both clutter and a potential tripping hazard. In this article, we will go over how to convert your cable box, DVD player, game console or other HD source into a wireless HDMI unit and eliminate the ugly HDMI cable.
You can stream high-quality content from any HD source wirelessly in minutes following these simple steps. For this demonstration we will use the Diamond VS50 Wireless HDMI Sender and Receiver. Furthermore, we will use a standard TV Cable Box and an HDTV.
First, Connect the Receiver into the TV
Before you begin, we need to make sure that your TV has at least one HDMI port and a USB port. The Diamond VS50 Receiver needs power to run. Therefore, it needs to be connected to the USB port on the TV. For this reason, Diamond has supplied a micro-USB cable to attach the receiver to the TV’s USB port. Then, you simply connect the HDMI end of the receiver into an HDMI port on your TV.
As you can see from the above illustration, the receiver connects directly into the TV’s HDMI port. A small. thin cable which is included, goes into the USB port. It doesn’t get much simpler than that.
Second, Connect the Sender into a Cable TV/Digital Converter Box, DVD/Blu-Ray Player, Game Console or any other HD Source
Similarly, we need to make sure that your AV source device has at least one HDMI port and a USB port. Again, the Diamond VS50 Sender needs power to run. Just follow the same steps as the receiver. Plug in your HDMI end of the sender into an HDMI port and the included micro-USB connection into a USB port on your HD source. An HD source can be a cable TV/digital converter box, a DVD/Blu-Ray player or a game console.
Third, Choose the Correct HDMI Input on Your TV and Enjoy
Finally, we need to select the correct HDMI Input on your TV and high-quality streaming from your AV source should happen within seconds with no lag.
The Diamond VS50 Wireless HDMI Sender and Receiver is just one of the Wireless HDMI solutions Diamond Multimedia offers and is a great addition to any home, office or classroom. A wireless environment is not only less of an eye-sore, but it is a lot safer too – not only for you and others, but for your equipment as well.
